  • Our very special pre-loved pieces can range from 30-300 years old. This being said, they can show wear commensurate with their age, so we cannot guarantee how much "mileage" any given piece has left before it might require a "tune up", so to speak.

We do, however, only sell pieces deemed to currently be in wearable condition, (unless otherwise noted), and our team works in a detailed and conscientious manner to disclose any potential flaws, damage or evidence of prior repair, etc. to the best of our ability via item descriptions and photos.

  • As a general rule of thumb, it is best to wear and handle vintage and antique jewelry with care, (i.e., do not shower or swim with them, wear them during physically laborious activities such as gardening, exercise, baking, chores, etc.) We would also recommend you skip donning your favorite vintage and antique pieces if you'll be working with paint, bleach, chlorine, sulfur, or other potentially hazardous or abrasive chemicals or cleaners. This is not to say that every vintage and antique piece is too fragile to withstand occasional-to-normal wear, but it is to remind you that each piece has traveled its own unique journey by the time it reaches us, and while we disclose what we do know to the best of our ability, we cannot guarantee vintage and antique pieces beyond the 7-day return window.

  • Condition, quality, province, and era are assessed and described to the best of our knowledge and ability. Vulpecula also partners with local GIA graduate gemologists to assess, grade and verbally appraise our pieces so we can confidently relay metal fineness and stone cut, color, clarity and carat.

  • Vulpecula has made an informed decision to no longer offer ring resizing as a service. We feel it is too difficult to accurately gauge your size remotely for any given ring, since 3 different rings that are technically a “size 6” on a mandrel will fit the wearer differently, depending upon ring size, shape, area of coverage, depth, weight, etc. This being said, in order to achieve the fewest modifications made to the piece, and highest degree of accuracy, we strongly recommend identifying a local, reputable jeweler who can measure you in person and will also be the jeweler performing the work. This way if any tweaks are necessary, that same jeweler can perform those adjustments as well. This is how we would handle our own personal ring resizing projects and we wouldn’t recommend doing anything we wouldn’t.
