"Nothing is Impossible for the Brave" Pegasus Signet Ring // Yellow Gold

This wonderful design was cast from an original Edwardian solid gold signet ring from Birmingham, UK, featuring a winged pegasus and the motto "Forti Nihil Difficile", which loosely translates to "for the brave, nothing is impossible" or "nothing is too difficult for the strong/brave". This is a motto that has graced both the Fox and Disraeli family crests, according to Fairbairn's book of crests of the families of Great Britain and Ireland, c.1905.

Well known from Greek mythology, the pegasus emerged as a popular heraldic charge (design or subject matter) during the middle ages, and was thought to symbolize eloquence, contemplation, integrity, dutifulness and fortitude.

We love that this powerful signet serves as a reminder to summon and act on your courage, even in the face of adversity. A good thing to keep in mind when we are faced with overcoming challenging obstacles.

This ring reflects the age-related (over 100 years!) quirks and unique character of the original Edwardian signet ring was cast from, it gives the ring a very special definition, texture and personality all its own.
